Percutaneous screw fixation of minimally displaced or nondisplaced scaphoid fractures provides stable internal fixation and allows for earlier healing, maintenance of motion and grip strength, and quicker return to work or athletics. The technique, although technically demanding, is easily mastered and can decrease significantly the potential problems associated with prolonged cast immobilization and the hardships of time off work or athletics.
