Abstract
Skin vasomotor reflexes can be evaluated by the skin blood flow response to autonomic stimuli. Skin blood flow is recorded by a flowmeter. Effective stimuli include the Valsalava maneuver and contralateral cold stimulus. The test is straightforward, although the responses are somewhat variable and, for that reason, it is not part of routine autonomic function tests.
