Abstract
Refractive index reconstruction might be applied to site characterization by the use of instrumental bore holes which circumscribe the site. Additional information for reconstructing acoustical impedance and reflecting properties might also be obtained from these same bore holes using a synthetic focus imaging technique. The advantages of various two- and three-dimensional (3-D) display techniques have been examined and two particular systems seem promising for display of 3-D site characterization images.
