Abstract
Constrictive pericarditis is a unique and uncommon cause of diastolic heart failure, secondary to reduced pericardial compliance in the setting of pericardial inflammation and/or fibrosis. Its diagnosis is of extreme importance since it is a potentially curable disorder. In this chapter we review the pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, diagnostic approach, and management of constrictive pericarditis and related disorders.
