title = "Outcomes and findings of program evaluation for the intensive mental health program",
abstract = "We describe changes in adaptive functioning for children enrolled in the Intensive Mental Health Program (IMHP), an innovative model for serving children with the most severe forms of SED. Most children show marked improvements in multiple indicators of role performance and symptomatology. Although a high risk, high need group, most children attended school regularly and lived with a stable caregiver at discharge.",

note = "Funding Information: IMHP classroom features include: daily attendance in the IMHP classroom, group check-in (5x/week), individual therapy (2x/week for 30 min), group therapy (4x/week for 40 min), daily point sheet completed, daily symptom rating scale completed, {\textquoteleft}{\textquoteleft}gotcha tickets{\textquoteright}{\textquoteright} awarded daily (redeemable for goods or special activities), and {\textquoteleft}{\textquoteleft}gotcha{\textquoteright}{\textquoteright} shopping offered. These IMHP classroom features are the most highly controlled and consistently delivered components of the overall treatment program. For example, a review of documented delivery of the IMHP classroom features showed children received these services 75.1–91.8% of the time over a 3-year period in which evaluation research on the IMHP was supported by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education (PR Award # R305T010147). Reasons for missing these features included absences due to illness, suspension, truancy, or school-wide activities interrupting the IMHP classroom schedule.",
