Abstract
As international travel continues to become more commonplace in the lives of ordinary citizens all over the world, travel clinics continue to gain recognition among the general public and healthcare providers for their unique role in promoting the health and safety of travellers. Travel clinic types are named on the basis of the level of services provided. Staffing of individual clinics will vary according to the spectrum of services that are planned to be provided at that particular clinic. The first requirement for a travel clinic of any kind is to establish reliable and up-to-date information sources. This chapter on management of a travel clinic discusses these concepts in detail. It also describes travel clinic operations, the approach to trip risk assessment, and the importance of having patient information brochures.
