Abstract

Physiological Vulnerability Persons may be vulnerable physiologically to insomnia for various reasons. In isolation, the precondition is not sufficient to produce insomnia but it does provide a substrate that is conducive to sleeplessness in the context of other factors. Recognizing the perpetuating conditions is useful in predicting which patients will be at higher risk of relapse and who might benefit from continuing therapy.
