Abstract
Mitogen activated protein (MAP) kinases were activated by a number of stimuli. Among the three known MAP kinase family members, extracellular signal-related kinase (ERK) was strongly activated in the transepithelial pressure system after one minute (30cmH20), with the response peaking at five minutes. Little or no response was seen in the p38 or c-jun N terminal MAP kinases.
