title = "Glucose sensing with graphene varactors",
abstract = "A novel metal-oxide-graphene glucose sensor is demonstrated. The sensor utilizes a graphene variable capacitor (varactor) structure that has the capability to enable passive, wireless sensing, a key advantage for in vivo glucose sensing. The functionalization of graphene using pyrene boronic acid is demonstrated using a self-assembly process, and successful functionalization is demonstrated by a positive Dirac voltage shift. The varactors are shown to be operational in a phosphate buffered saline solution and show stable performance after multiple measurement cycles. Finally, a consistent and reversible response to 100 mg/dL glucose is demonstrated.",
