Abstract

This short review, presented during the Plenary Session of the AGA meeting during Digestive Disease Week 2003, highlights advances in the fields of colorectal cancer, prevention of ulcer bleeding, Helicobacter pylori and cancer risk, novel therapies of inflammatory bowel disease, treatment of chronic hepatitis B and C, and the use of imatinib in the treatment of gastrointestinal stromal cell tumors.
