Abstract

Infections present with myriad signs and symptoms. Having a systematic approach to evaluating patients for the possibility of the presence of an infection is critical to identifying the condition and effecting a good outcome through a rational selection of diagnostic tests and a rational selection of antimicrobial treatment.
