Abstract
Fungal infections may be cutaneous, subcutaneous, deep, or systemic. Diagnosis often is delayed. Cutaneous and subcutaneous infections usually respond favorably to therapy, whereas deep and systemic infections often are associated with significant morbidity and even mortality. Newer antifungal medications have improved our ability to treat these infections.
