Abstract
In recent years, developments in CT, especially the development of multi-detector CT (MDCT), have provided new and better tools for the evaluation of patients presenting with hematuria and flank pain. The ability of MDCT to provide rapid contiguous thin-slice imaging through the abdomen allowed for the development of CT urography (CTU) protocols for the detection of urolithiasis, renal masses and urothelial neoplasms such as transitional cell carcinoma.
