N2 - Using data obtained by transthoracic echocardiography, evidence that right ventricular (RV) volume increases during ventricular fibrillation (VF) is presented which can be accurately estimated by two dimensional measurements. In vivo measurements of RV geometry during VF episodes lasting at least 30 seconds were obtained from six healthy pigs. During each episode, parasternal echocardiographic images were recorded. The data support the claim that RV volume increased during fibrillation.
