Abstract
Presentation of Case A 43-year-old man was admitted to the hospital because of increasing leg pain and bladder and bowel incontinence, with confusion. Sixteen years earlier the patient fell from a bicycle and began to have intermittent tingling of the left arm and leg. Five years before admission, while he was painting a porch, transient weakness developed on dorsiflexion of the left foot after prolonged squatting. The following month, pain developed in the left base of the neck, with intermittent tingling of the left hand and foot.
