Abstract
In this work we present a method for studying the dynamic acoustic radiation force on cylindrical surfaces. The acoustic force is generated by a focused amplitude-modulated ultrasound beam. The method is based on a combination of the diffraction theory and ray approximation. Experiments and computer simulations of the radiation force on steel and rubber cylinders are presented. Experimental results are in agreement with the theoretical model.
