Abstract

SLEEP IN ANIMALS The American inventor Thomas A. Edison exhibited a remarkable lack of understanding in 1903 about the sleep habits of animals. His misperceptions led him to make an unfounded observation, proven eventually to be erroneous, about the omnipresence and need for sleep across the animal kingdom.
