note = "Funding Information: As part of that effort, we present four articles in this month{\textquoteright}s edition of the Journal of Arthroplasty that focus on the topic of survival analysis. These articles are a collaborative effort by our journal editors and a team led by Hilal Maradit Kremers, Daniel Berry, and David Lewallen of Mayo Clinic. Their work was supported by a P30 center grant from the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS) to create a novel three-part review of relevant statistical methods that are commonly used in arthroplasty literature. Each of the three parts will be published in separate issues and have its own collection of four articles. The second batch of four papers will focus on study design options and common biases that can arise during data collection and analysis. The third batch of four papers will focus on statistical analysis options and available risk adjustment methodologies. While these reviews will cover separate topics, they all share a common goal: providing our audience with practical papers that highlight the importance of the information presented. ",
