Abstract

CASE PRESENTATION This patient was first evaluated in 1986 at age 35 years. He was healthy, and the neurologic examination performed at that time was normal. He agreed to donate a blood sample for research on the genetics of his family. He was aware that his father’s two sisters, his paternal grandfather, and several distant relatives had a rapidly disabling neurologic condition.
