Abstract

This self-directed learning module highlights new advances in the evaluation of diseases affecting nerve and muscle. It is a section of the chapter on rehabilitation in diseases affecting nerve and muscle for the Self-Directed Medical Knowledge Program Study Guide for practitioners and trainees in physical medicine and rehabilitation. This section covers clinical evaluation and methods and techniques of evaluation. New advances that are covered in this section include indications for muscle and nerve biopsy, techniques, and interpretations.
