Mayo Clinic Physical Activity Research Center: Metabolomics and Proteomics Analysis Site

PROJECT NARRATIVE The Mayo Clinic Center for Metabolomics and Proteomics is well positioned to have a positive impact on developing a molecular map of physical activity through systematic discovery of molecules in blood and tissue collected in the MoTrPAC studies. Cutting-edge analytical techniques including mass spectrometry and NMR spectroscopy will be used to identify novel molecules that change in response to physical activity or predict the biological response to physical activity. The impact of functional quality of proteins on physical activity outcomes will also be a focus.
