Robot-assisted surgery for benign disease of the bladder

In this chapter, reconstructive techniques for benign bladder disease will be discussed. The fortunate thing about robot-assisted surgery is that almost any open surgery can be reimagined with this technique provided a pneumoperitoneum can be established and port placement it possible. This chapter will cover the more common scenarios in benign bladder disease: simple cystectomy, bladder augmentation, bladder diverticulectomy, ureteral reimplantation, and vesicovaginal fistula repair.
