Abstract

In this chapter, reconstructive techniques for benign bladder disease will be discussed. The fortunate thing about robot-assisted surgery is that almost any open surgery can be reimagined with this technique provided a pneumoperitoneum can be established and port placement it possible. This chapter will cover the more common scenarios in benign bladder disease: simple cystectomy, bladder augmentation, bladder diverticulectomy, ureteral reimplantation, and vesicovaginal fistula repair. The limits of what can actually be done likely extend beyond the scope of this chapter and go as far as the surgeon's imagination can go.
