To the Editor: The report by Dr. Tamborlane and his colleagues1 confirmed our preliminary results2 3 4 on short-term, continuous, subcutaneous insulin infusion (CSII) in insulin-dependent diabetics. The portable Auto Syringe that they used clearly has a more flexible rate adjustment than our earlier model had, but this versatility can only be bought at a price that we considered excessive.
