Drugs in Development and Clinical Trials for Celiac Disease

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

There is an interest and need for non-dietary therapies for celiac disease. Recent regulatory meetings and expert consensus have set some guidance for clinical trials designs and drug development in this disease that has a unique paradigm. Several agents are currently being trialed and act on immune tolerance with antigen-specific therapeutics, preventing the absorption and effects of gluten immunogenic peptides and immune modulation.
