Abstract

A methodology was developed for potential determination of the material properties of inhomogeneous and anisotropic biomembranes. Mathematical estimations and computer simulations were performed to determine the effect of load and displacement errors on the property values. The results indicated that the material properties were particularly sensitive to displacement errors. The determination of non-dominant components requires more accurate experimental measurements.
