Abstract

This study was designed to assess the effects of the crosslinking components on the heat of crosslinking, the maximum crosslinking temperature, and the curing time frame, as well as on the composite material mechanical properties. The monomer exhibited a negative effect on the maximum crosslinking temperature while the remaining parameters showed a positive effect. The molecular weight and initiator were found to have a positive effect on the composite mechanical properties. An exciting results of the study was the identification of promising formulations for the replacement of human trabecular bone.
