Common Types of Gastritis

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

The most common forms of gastritis are reactive gastropathy, peptic disease, Helicobacter pylori gastritis, and autoimmune gastritis. These entities, as well as the less common disease pattern of autoimmune pangastritis, are discussed in detail in this chapter, with a summary of key clinical, laboratory, and histological findings. The chapter incorporates the proper use of immunohistochemical stains for making histological diagnoses. Relevant differential diagnoses are discussed, with a focus on key discriminatory features.
