Small bowel cancer is uncommon, but provides complex diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. An awareness of the etiology, behavior, and biology of small bowel cancer is essential to optimize clinical care for affected patients. Subtypes include adenocarcinoma, carcinoid, lymphoma, and sarcoma, with diagnostic and treatment strategies tailored to the respective diagnosis.
